ANTHROPOID

Operation Anthropoid was the name of the mission by the Czech Resistance while the country was being occupied by the Germans during WWII. The mission was to assassinate Heinrich Reinhardt. Mike and I watched a movie about it. 

You can still see the bullet holes on the outside of the church. After Reinhardt died, there was a man hunt for the Czech paratroopers. They were hiding in this church.

Eventually, during a long shoot out, the Czech fighters were trapped in the crypt.

They did everything they could to get out, including trying to bust through the stone walls. Eventually, they were either shot, or committed suicide before being captured.
