Dinner @ Jana's Apartment

YANA, our tour guide, invited us over for a "typical" style Czech meal. Her sister cooked as she guided us on a tour that day. Her friend, Henry, from Canada also joined us. It was a fabulously FUN evening!

We tried many new foods and the two Mike's tried this drink called BURCAK. It is a very young, still fermenting wine. They got it from a friend of a friend, who has a source!

As you can see, we tried a variety of wines and they were served in their proper glasses! Lots of laughs and interesting conversations!

Mike H. also tries the BURCAK. Our other guide, Jan, said today that it is a bit dangerous to drink because "it can clean you QUICKLY!"
For dessert we had KOLACHES, and other baked sweet treats that they usually make for Christmas.
We started the evening with champagne from France that YANA and her sister purchased on one of their visits. Next we had an appetizer of ham rolled in some kind of soft white cheese and bread, liver dumpling and noodle soup, roast turkey, potato salad with apples, kolaches and every color of wine and after dinner drinks! YANA and her sister then send up home with a basket of baked treats and an white embroidered handkerchief. WOW! What hospitality! We hope to entertain her in Nebraska someday.

This was very STRONG!
