CARP! It's what's for DINNER!

Jana, our tour guide, explained how CARP is a favorite dish of the Czechs. There are many man made ponds for raising CARP. This dish is especially popular around Christmas time. SUPINA means "scales" in Czech....not sure about supinka.

Carp Sushi

We thought the carp restaurant would be something like "Joe Tesses" place on the Missouri River. We didn't know it would be a fancy restaurant with chandeliers! 

Carp is cut in fingerlings....I did not get any bones! Mike got a few. The meal also included herbed mashed potatoes and a lemon & dill dipping sauce for the fish.

Mike ordered the famous Czech brandy....SLIVOVICE.

He thinks it is GOOD!

Karen gets adventuresome and tries it too!
